Frozen Baby Purse is coming along nicely! I am now adding the details on the “dress”. Probably adding more detail than is necessary but it’s ME. I don’t half-ass on anything. More detail= more shock value. Halloween is my night to shine and show off my mad skills. My decapitated head purse is a tough act to follow, yanno! I mean, come on…
(Slide up his brain and you access the storage part of the purse…yea, sick and twisted, eh?)
So without further ado…
The body was made using the original stinky fabric as a pattern, modified to add the storage area of the purse…
I added the crackle paint to the head and it had the unintended effect of flaking off the paint, so yea, that was fun to fix in some areas. I had to laquer the shit out of it to keep it from flaking. At first I wasn’t too keen on the eyelashes turning silver from the spray paint but I decided the thing is supposed to be frozen, the silver’s a great touch.
The “dress rehearsal” to see how it all comes together… I like it!
Remember when I said I don’t half-ass? Yea, check out the sweep of the coat…
The bonnet could have stood to be a little deeper, but oh well. I wasn’t going to take it all apart. I added silver lace, pleating, and pearl beads.

I should add I am torn between two different dresses right now. Both are in various stages of construction and both have their merits. I guess time will tell which I like best and worse case scenario, I have 2011’s costume ready to go?
But look what I did when pressing the hem!

Yea… that sucked. I ended up shortening it in that area, and it doesn’t show much on the dress. Besides, it’s for me so I’m not so worried if the hem is a bit off… I doubt that will be the focus of attention anyways!!
